Abstract

This co-authored output examines the impact of President Trump's first one hundred days in office , January to April 2017, on the United Kingdom. It discusses the nationwide public protests in the UK timed to coincide with Trump's inauguration on 21 January, Trump's feud with London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, and the combined impact of the UKs 2016 referendum decision to leave the European Union and Trump's election as President. Prime Minister Theresa May's White House visit in January 2017 and the implications of the Trump presidency for the U.S-UK 'special relationship' are also considered, together with the controversy resulting from May's decision to invite Trump for a full state visit to the UK.
