Abstract

The author addresses the needs of patients and family caregivers in the provision of end of life care. She claims that majority of innovations in end of life care have been initiated in palliative care and hospice care. She considers the increasing number of deaths in end of life care institutions. She comments on a study of the decisions made by home care nurses concerning the needs and amount of services at the end of life.
