3-D CGI, Interaction with Edges: A Practical Investigation into Space and the Materiality of 3-D CGI Animation is a short film and presentation that considers the role and the possibilities of boundaries to act as points of interchange or exchange between perceptually different spaces. The discussion seeks to expand the debates introduced in Heidegger’s conception of borders and boundaries in relation to bodies and refers to Schiller’s delineation of space through limitation (borders as edges to divide space). The presentation explores the idea of edges as environmental compositional frames and as containers for space as a method to engage and interact with space through practice. These ideas are introduced as part of a larger research project relating to materiality and 3-D CGI
